A sign that says Books on it

1. Unleash the Power of the Female Brain — Supercharging Yours for Better Health, Energy, Mood, Focus and Sex By Dr. Daniel G. Amen

I am a fan of Dr. Amen’s books. This is just packed with helpful, incredible, I-want-to-get-healthier-inducing information, like his other books.

2. Creating a Life that Matters — How to Live and Love with Meaning and Purpose by Rabbi Manis Friedman and Rivka Goldstein

I have a confession to make.

Although I am an observant Jewish woman, I tend not to like reading Jewish books. But this one is a breath of fresh air. Highly recommend it to any person of any religion.

3. Big Magic — Creative Living Beyond Fear by Elizabeth Gilbert

I felt I was on a delicious, fluffy cloud the whole time I was reading it. My girl, Elizabeth, can Eat. Pray. Love anything.

4. Becoming Bulletproof — Life Lessons from a Secret Agent — by Evy Poumpouras

I love Evy! I want to be a badass like her.

5. Fascinate — How to Make Your Brand Impossible to Resist by Sally Hogshead

Good book, but a bit boring and definitely not impossible to resist.

6. Love Life — How to Raise Your Standards, Find Your Person and Live Happily ( No Matter What) by Matthew Hussey

I have long been following Hussey on YouTube, and this book did not disappoint, even though I thought I had already heard everything he had to say about finding love.

7. Greenlights by Matthew McConaughey

You can’t not love Matthew McConaughey! You really feel him ( and how cool he is!) through every page.

8. Same as ever — a Guide to What Never Changes by Morgan Housel

Only Morgan Housel could write about a topic that sounds dull but is actually serious, and make it easy to read and enjoyable.

9. The Diving Bell and the Butterfly by Jean-Dominique Bauby

A memoir dictated by the blinking of one eye by a paraplegic author is a perpetual reminder of how lucky we are.

10. The $100 Startup — Reinvent the way you make a living, do what you love and create a new future by Chris Guillebeau

A very practical, down-to-earth, and motivating guide to anyone who wants to start a business.

11. I know Why the Caged Birds Sing by Maya Angelou

It’s just one of those must-read classic books. Unlike every classic, it’s a great book as well.

12. Unravelled — the True Story of a Woman Who Dared to Become a Different Kind of Mother by Maria Housden.

Interesting read, not a must-read for every mother, but if the thought of buying a one-way ticket to Thailand ever crossed your mind (for a split second, obviously!), this book will make you feel less alone.

13. The Piano Player of Budapest — A True Story of Survival, Hope and Music by Roxanne de Bastion

Such a beautiful book, I read it in one day.

I always make sure to read at least one Holocaust book a year. I see it as a duty to keep the memories of those who perished alive, but above all, to absorb their strength and resilience, and keep shining our light.

14. All the Money in the World — What the Happiest People Know about Getting and Spending by Laura Vanderkam

It started really well, but she lost me midway.

15. The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini

This is an awesome, read-it-in-one-day, totally immersed type of book.

16. The Ride of a Lifetime — Lessons Learned from 15 Years as CEO of the Walt Disney Company by Robert Iger.

I absolutely loved this book. Bob Iger is a legend.

17. Dinner for Vampires — Life on a Cult TV Show by Bethany Joy Lenz

Great book!

18. The Blue Zones of Happiness — Lessons from the World’s Happiest People by Dan Buettner

I am obsessed with this topic, and the book is phenomenal. I wrote two articles on the topic.

Check it out:

19. Hannah Senesh — Her Life and Diary

The story of a Jewish girl who risked her life and parachuted into Nazi-occupied territory during World War II to help her fellow brethren. It is an astounding story of bravery, mixed with heart-wrenching sadness, the all too familiar Jewish tale.

20. The How of Happiness — A Scientific Approach to Getting the Life You Want by Sonja Lyubomirski

I have been looking for this book for a while, since I am obsessed with the topic, and Sonja is an expert in the field. Unfortunately, I didn’t write any notes on it, and I don’t remember my thoughts on it or what I gained from the book. I remember liking it.

Note to self: Write an article about it if you want to remember it or take pictures of important pages.

21. Young Forever — the Secrets to Living Your Longest, Healthiest Life by Mark Hyman, MD.

I am a super fan of Dr. Hyman.

22. Heal Your Drained Brain — Naturally Relieve Anxiety, Combat Insomnia, and Balance Your Brain in Just 14 days by Dr. Mike Dow

Good book, again, must write notes next time.

23. Captivate — The Science of Succeeding with People by Vanessa Van Edwards

Amazing book. Here is what I learned from it:

The Art of Being Captivating

24. Forever Strong — a New, Science-based Strategy for Aging Well by Dr. Gabrielle Lyon

The title sounded very promising, but the book was more technical and detailed than I could appreciate at the time, and I stopped it mid-book.

25. Raising a Loving Family by Rabbi Shimon Russell

Absolutely amazing book, the one you have to read again from time to time.

26. The Art of Doing —  A Guide to Getting Motivated, Getting Unstuck and Getting It Done by Jesse Lipscombe

The author did a bunch of cool stuff and learned good lessons, but for a self-development junkie like me, I was left wanting more.

27. The Home Edit Life: The No-Guilt Guide to Owning What You Want and Organizing Everything by Clea Shearer and Joanna Taplin

I love books and organizing stuff. Put the two together, and I am IN LOVE. Plus, the two authors have the cutest writing style and personality that I devoured the book in one day. And don’t get me started on the pictures!

28. When the Body Says No — The Cost of Hidden Stress by Dr. Gabor Mate

Incredible book, highly recommend.

29. The Harder I Fight, the More I Love You by Neko Case

It’s a heart-wrenching memoir of a girl who suffers a terrible childhood, but who, in the end, finds her way back.

The sort of memoir that makes you feel a tiny bit less guilty when you lose your temper with your children.

30. Hostage by Eli Sharabi

Eli takes you deep into the tunnels as a hostage in Gaza for 491 days. You’re right there with him throughout the entire book, feeling every emotion and rooting for him until the very end.

31. The Gift — 12 Lessons to Save Your Life by Edith Eger

One of my favourite inspirational books of all time. It is sitting on my nightstand to be read again.

32. Emotional Intelligence — Why it Can Matter More than IQ by Daniel Goleman

This is one of those books that you see everywhere, and when you hear about it, it sounds great, but when you actually read it, it’s super boring. I couldn’t finish it, and that says a lot coming from me; I always have to finish a book.

33. The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins

This book is incredible! I love Mel Robbins, and this is absolutely her best book yet!

34. Revenge of the Tipping Point — Overstories, Superspreaders, and the Rise of Social Engineering by Malcolm Gladwell

Brilliant as always. Gladwell is, in my humble opinion, one of the best authors of our time.

35. I Will Teach You to be Rich by Ramit Sethi

One of the best financial guides I have read. I recommend it if you want to achieve financial success.

36. Untangled — Guiding Teenage Girls Through the Seven Transitions into Adulthood by Lisa Damour, PhD.

Great read!

37. The Success Principles — How to Get from Where You are to Where You Want to be by Jack Canfield and Janet Switzer

This book is packed with great advice and inspiration.

I wrote this article summarizing all 67 principles described in the book:

Chicken Soup for the Successful Soul

38. It Begins with You — The 9 Hard Truths about Love that will Change your Life by Jillian Turecki

An amazing book, one to reread every year!

39. The Opposite of Spoiled — Raising Kids Who are Grounded, Generous, and Smart about Money by Ron Lieber

3 buckets for saving, spending and giving

It’s a beautiful book that really inspires you to raise generous children.

40. The Power of One More — The Ultimate Guide to Happiness and Success by Ed Mylett

It’s a good book, but I expected more from it. I think Ed is a more impressive speaker than writer.

41. How to be Datable — The Essential Guide to Finding Your Person and Falling in Love by Julie Krafchik and Yue Xu.

Amazing book!

42. Why has Nobody Told Me this Before? by Dr. Julie Smith

Therapy in a book!

A super fun memoir.

I’m a super fan of the podcast, and the book is good too.

45. Grit — The Power of Passion and Perseverance by Angela Duckworth

It’s a well-researched book on the science of grit.

46. Make Money Easy — Create Financial Freedom and Live a Richer Life by Lewis Howes

I have been following Howes for a while; the book feels totally like him, and while I read it, I have the image of Lewis on his desk, holding a pen, smiling.
